Goals
  • Offer 4-year scholarship packages (only $2160.00 for the entire 4 years or $540 annually) to the most qualified sixth grade students who plan to enroll at St Augustine High School (SAS). Meet and read all about our school-year 2010-2011 scholars by clicking here.
  • Offer 1-year, non-renewable, partial financial assistance packages to current qualified SAS Senior Year high school students.
  • Solicit scholarship sponsorships for 12 scholars beginning in school year 2012.
Sources of Scholarship Funding
(corrections submitted by Peter & Nora Sprenger 10-16-2011)

Our 12 scholars who started in 2010 are funded through the leadership, efforts and hard work of Peter and Nora Sprenger who facilitated tirelessly to secure the sponsorship funds:

1 - Scholarship award from Gebhard & Emmi Sprenger
1 - Elizabeth Sprenger-Kamber Memorial Scholarship (Nora & Peter Sprenger)
10 - Scholarship awards funded by the RHW Foundation, a Charity Foundation based in Liechtenstein, Europe.

Objectives
  • To become the best provider of high quality, 4-year, high school Scholarship assistance to poor and needy families.
  • To optimize the use of modern day hi-technology to communicate, to hold meetings, to use online technologies to fund-raise, and to reach out to other scholarship sponsors.
SAS Ai's Work
  • SAS Ai's first responsibility is to solicit sponsorships to scholarships and raise funds in order to fund the 4-year high school scholarship package offerings. Please help us by pledging $2 (TWO DOLLARS a MONTH) to the SAS Ai Scholarship Fund.
  • Secondly, to plan, implement, and maintain the scholarship program making sure that all financial transactions with SAS Admin are done on a timely, comprehensive and expeditious manner.
    • It is a known fact that there is widespread poverty in the Philippines. Our home town of Tagudin in the province of Ilocos Sur is no exception. Jobs are hard to find and often, parents work several jobs to make ends meet. Part of the work of SAS Ai in granting a scholarship package to a qualified and needy applicant is to make sure that the child stands a good chance at completing his or her secondary education.
    • Our locally based Field Team headed by Albert Bunoan in addition to overseeing the scholars do the screening process of new applicants, evaluation of the application forms, conducting interviews, and making student's progress reports to the sponsors and to all members of the board of trustees.
How SAS Ai Uses Sponsor Donations
All of SAS Ai's elected officers, including all members of the Board of Trustees are volunteers and work for free. From the President on down to the Field Team member, no one is given any monetary remuneration in payment for services rendered. All work is done on a voluntary basis. We are all mostly alumni of St Augustine School dedicated to the betterment, advancement, and well being of the next generation of SAS students.

SAS Ai does not lease or rent work space since most of the work is done in people's homes on their personal computers and laptops. SAS Ai uses a small amount of petty cash for office supplies, namely postage stamps for mailing official letters, printer ink, paper, pens, pencils, file folders, envelopes, binders, various and sundry office supplies.

ajsomera SAS BATCH 70 PROJECT - FLAGPOLE 4 Dec 10 2009, 9:59 AM EST by deacontom
Thread started: Dec 8 2009, 11:51 PM EST  Watch
We are very happy to inform you, alumni, alumnus, etc. that a project undertaken by SAS Batch 70 , which I do belong, the replacement of the SAS Flagpole into a Stainless one had just been completed. The approximate amount spend of P 100,000.00 is not what matter most but a lasting memory of Batch 1970 for the next generation of students of Saint Augustine School to remember by. Therefore, we encourage also all other batches to have their own monument /legacy inside the school campus for us emulate by. Thank you.
